How many new BMW models can you fit in eight-and-a-half acres? That might sound like a rhetorical question, but we promise you it's not. BMW just opened the world's largest vehicle showroom, with a total of 377,000 square feet of space.

What do they need that much space for? Well, four showrooms for BMW, MINI, Rolls-Royce and BMW motorcycles; 450 staffers; a workshop with the capacity to perform maintenance on 120 vehicles at once; a boutique for BMW merchandise; a parts and accessories center; a private cinema; a café; a Formula One racing simulator, and a children's play area.

You might be thinking that BMW invested three years and $300-million dollars on this showroom near their home base in Germany. But, that's where you'd be wrong. It's located in Abu Dhabi. Ian Robertston, Member, Board of Management, BMW AG, explains, "The Middle East is an important region for the BMW Group. We sold more vehicles here in 2011 than ever before...The investment in this impressive and unique facility that makes the world's biggest BMW Group Showroom, is a testament to the continued opportunities that lie ahead in Abu Dhabi and in the region."¹

Robertson formerly inaugurated the showroom at an exclusive event earlier this month. High-profile guests in attendance included High Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Vice-Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and Arno Husselmann, General Manager of Abu Dhabi Motors, as well as 1,000 invited guests.

It's every bit as luxurious as it sounds, with over 70 permanent displays for BMW models, and 10 displays for BMW Motorcycles. Prospective buyers will be able to view the entire new model lineup in different colors and options packages, as well as a wide array of pre-owned vehicles.
