The new line of BMW M Performance Models will roll into Kuni BMW in less than two years - and while that sounds like a long time to wait, just rest assured the BMW is hard at work perfecting the lineup before it's available to performance-minded drivers like those of you in the Beaverton area. Slated just below M Models (like the X5 M) and above the standard lineup, the coupe and convertible models will take on the title 2 Series. Hatchback M Performance Models will retain the 1 Series title.

Which models will arrive first? The M235i coupe, powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, sending 316 horsepower to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Rumor has it that an all-wheel drive variant is possible. We'll know for sure when it makes its debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

This same powerplant and drivetrain will also be wrapped in a convertible package, though an debut date for this model is forthcoming.

We have no doubt that this will be as popular - if not more so - than the current model 1 Series M Coupe, which sold out almost as quickly as it was released last year. While BMW only produced 600 examples for the North American market, we expect they'll be more generous with the new M Performance Line, so finding one to take for a test drive here at Kuni BMW should be easy!
