The BMW Repo Turned Action Film in South Africa

Here at Kuni BMW we pride ourselves on the number of happy drivers that we see in our showroom and shop. We do our best to live up to the BMW marque to provide the best-of-the-best in whatever it is you stop in to see us for. That includes test drives, technology questions, buying or leasing a new BMW, or shopping for a dependable pre-owned vehicle. And your regular maintenance? We're happy to help you with that, too.

While BMW makes every effort to ensure that their dealers are adhering to such high customer service standards, we're sad to report that not every location is so stellar. So, if you want to avoid a rough experience, we advise you to avoid one particular dealership in South Africa that sent a helicopter and armed men to one man's place of work to repossess a loaner model.

We're not kidding. Ravindra Jainarain brought his 320d to the service center where he had just purchased the vehicle, and asked that they address a few quality issues he had. Namely: the air conditioner was malfunctioning, and the doors weren't aligned properly. When he went to pick it up a few days later, he found that the problems hadn't been addressed. So they told him to keep the loaner  3 Series he'd been driving, and he went on his way.

Imagine his surprise when armed repo men burst into his office soon after, demanding he return the vehicle? Of course he handed the keys over - and then called his lawyer. A judge quickly ruled that Mr. Jainarain had the right to drive the loaner vehicle while the dealership fixed his car, though a final verdict on the issue is forthcoming.

Of course, these aren't policies we believe in here in Beaverton. Plus we prefer to spend our money on customer service training instead of helicopters. That's a better investment, wouldn't you agree?

Stop in and see us at 10999 SW Canyon Rd Beaverton, OR 97005 to see what we mean by impeccable customer service.
