Hamann-Tuned BMW 6-Series Debuts at Frankfurt Motor Show

Richard Hamann was known for his vast knowledge and talent for retuning BMWs. When he passed away recently, the company he founded, Hamann Motorsports, responded by working towards Hamann's dying wish and to ensure that his spirit lives on. They came through at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show when they launched their first tuning package for the BMW 6-Series Convertible.

We're sure Richard Hamann would be proud to have his name on this package, an embodiment of his passion for the BMW brand. The tuned-up 6-Series convertible features dynamic spoilers in the front and back, new LED daytime-running headlamps and sideskirts as well as Hamann's EDITION RACE ANODIZED and ANNIVERSARY EVO wheels. The interior was ramped up as well, with black anodize aluminum components and even personalized floor mats.

Under the hood, Hamann enhanced the 6-Series 4.4-liter V8 by adding a sport exhaust system with four stainless steel tail pipes. The car also got a horsepower upgrade - from 400 to 510! With all that power, it's no wonder Hamman lowered the car about an inch to stabilize its center of gravity.
